So here it is, the ego food of which you are so unabashedly deserving:

I have absolutely no idea where this fountain of miraculous creativity is that you drink from (and proceed to get us all so gloriously drunk on), but if the map to it exists, keep it hidden and close, and treasured! I read it all up to darling fscked (I ALWAYS wondered how it was pronounced!) and I was entranced. I actually started reading at work, then had to leave for home with a stop at the grocery store, and I actually wandered through the grocery store draped across my cart reading (and endangering the Achilles heels of shoppers storewide), I absolutely refused to stop reading for something as futile as food. I am hooked in like Neo to the Matrix (The Acid has you...), and I cannot wait for more. Wednesday and Sundays never seemed so torturously far away!!!

Now, the crap (comments and questions):
-Best first line of a story I've read in a long time!

-I love your use of modified alliteration in p.5 of the overture (abstraction, interaction, distraction). Ingenious and floetic.

-The Music simply...was paragraph is like mantra to the initiated, and those who don't get it won't get it. All of that is EXACTLY what makes the music so beautiful and so damned necessary! Amen!

-Tonight the drug wouldn't be downloaded...I've officially adopted this line as The Word (see my new homepage link). :)

-Acidic green eyes, acid bath...you have a marvelous grasp of visual writing, something is hard for people to get and can't be faked. Visual words aren't just descriptions, they're these phonetic paintings, almost as beautiful as the visions themselves. And you have seen the light.

-Perdendosi...I haven't heard that word since my appreciation of music class in college. It sent shivers down my spine, and naming this race with that word is nothing short of genius.

-IPS...I love that interstellar nod to Ven's UPS highs and lows, very cool. :)

-I really like the name Farewayth. Is there any story behind that?

-I love the setup of Photogirl's introduction, planting the story seeds with that trippy camera. I can see everyone in this more beautiful light, this new electric hum of the world you've created for them. It's beautiful!!!!

-I'm curious if you have segments of this story set in your mind to LOA songs, kinda the soundtrack to your mental movie? And I do hope you create visual aids for this, this has the makings of an amazing graphic novel (that could become a gorgeous movie...can I cowrite the screenplay, please please please???).

Again, you've outdone yourself, and we've only just begun. Two more days until my next fix, I'll never survive!!!! :D

*hugs n' kisses*

Reading your message made it all worthwhile. It's such a comforting and invigorating feeling to know that someone out there in the world GETS IT. All the little things you throw in and hope for the best over. All the words that are picked and chosen with almost feverish deliberation. (That's actually very funny, since sometimes I'll sit at the keyboard and paragraph after paragraph will flow from my fingertips...then I'll be stopped cold for an eternity in search of a single word. But I digress...) I hoped someone out there would get it, this crazy, heartfelt thing that I couldn't have kept from birthing if I'd tried.

And in one fell swoop, you allowed me to exhale. Of course, that's not going to stop me from rambling...! Where do I begin...?

I'm flattered beyond reason and practically giddy that you've adopted "Tonight the drug..." as your Word! I must admit, I was kinda pleased with that line. You touched on a LOT of the specifics that I just had a good feeling about as soon as they arrived on the digital page in front of me.

That litle rhythmic passage on music in the Overture? That was one that stopped me cold, but it ended up just as I wanted. By the time all is said and done hopefully everyone will see I consider this to be not just a love note to the Children - which it is - but a sonnet to MUSIC itself. The joy of a narrative of this length is that I get to touch on pretty much whatever I want, as long as I play fair and make it all knit together. I'm having a blast with that.

Apparently the use of color has caught the attention of other readers as well, which is cool. Again, you're proving something to me that I'd suspected for a while. I've always considered myself primarily a VISUAL artist, so this story really had its origins in strong imagery that floated in my head for the last couple of years. The best moments of HYPER-REVOLUTION come when the words accurately describe what's in my mind's eye.

Yes I do have certain segments set to songs in my head -- and not all of them are LORDS OF ACID songs either. (I'll be exploring that in one of the later chapters too; there's so much more to come...it's crazy!) Back when I was working on the BABES OF ACID lithographs, the images were so strong - not just of the ladies I was illustrating, but of almost EVERYONE on the site - I had this bright idea...but I had nowhere to unleash it, so it just gestated, bubbling to the surface from time to time.

Then the Acid just spoke to me and told me what to do. It has me indeed...!

I'm readily incorporating every influence I can think of, plus some. I'm pulling from stuff I've loved since childhood as well as things we've all just plucked from the newsstand or seen at the multiplex. See if you can pick them out as they come up...!

IPS? Yeah, I liked that too. (Wait'll you see the fun we have with outer-space stuff in upcoming chapters!)

I picked the names of the primary antagonists carefully. They had to sound JUST right. I didn't want them to sound like most alien bad guys'/gals' names in movies or TV shows -- so alien they're hokey. But they couldn't be normal sounding either. Sinclair's was the easiest, Brittlesmith's possibly the most descriptive - you'll see! - and fair lady Farewayth...hers took a while. I actually had another name for her for several chapters before this one came to me, then I had to go back and revise it in everything. It was definitely worth it. She's such a bad-ass.

But not as much of a bad-ass as fscked. Even the real-life Child has no idea what she's about to do. This girl could probably take on Trinity and make the Matrix look about as reliable as Windows 95.

That was pretty good. I may have to use that. 8^D

I ADORE Photogirl, and the preface to her appearance was perfectly timed in my head before I keyed in a single stroke. Some moments are just like that, as though the story is simply channeling it's way into the world through me. That fountain of creativity you asked about? That's what it does. It doesn't really need me; if I'm not available, it'll find someone else to funnel itself through.

So I make myself constantly available. I ain't no fool.

Lastly - for now - the Perdendosi. As soon as the name came to me, it was like a lightning bolt. They almost named themselves. Itt has power even if you don't know what it means. They're the bad guys of this tale, but I love them in all their glory. They're magnificent, aren't they? It's almost like I didn't invent them, I feel they're so perfect. But they're NOT perfect...just wait. It's actually been laid out for the readers already...I do play fair after all.

But first the occupants have some humans to smack around. And they will. I LOVE them.

I promise you this Terri: by the time you turn the page on the last chapter, your faith and goodwill will be more than rewarded. You won't even have to get that far.

Trust me.

After all, I have to make sure I do right by the girl who almost leaves me speechless...

...Almost! *wink*
